Blockparty Teams Up with Blockchain World Conference for First-ever, Casino Sanctioned, All Crypto Poker Tournament July 14 in Atlantic City

Closing out this year’s Blockchain World Conference, registration, ticketing, and buy-in for first-of-its-kind poker tournament will be done exclusively by Blockparty’s blockchain-powered ticketing platform.

NEW YORK, July 10, 2018 – Taking over Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City July 11-13, Blockchain World Conference (BWC) has announced that its three-day conference will conclude with the first-ever, casino sanctioned, all crypto poker tournament. The 100-player event will be held at 11:00 AM ET on Saturday, July 14, and will be ticketed entirely by the Blockparty blockchain-powered live event ticketing platform. In addition to tournament ticketing, Blockparty will be used for participants to buy-into games, bet, and cash out in cryptocurrency.

Alex Falcone, Blockchain World Conference COO, said “What better way to end a three-day conference in Atlantic City than the world’s first crypto poker tournament? After three days of discussions about blockchain and cryptocurrency, this is a fun and unique way to bring our event to a close– highlighting a compelling real-world application of this technology, in true Atlantic City fashion. The Blockparty team are incredible leaders in blockchain-based live event ticketing and they were the perfect partners for us to work with for an event of this caliber.”

In order to guarantee a seat in the tournament, players must already be attendees of the Blockchain World Conference and pay a $250 buy-in in cryptocurrency on the Blockparty platform. The tournament winner will receive two VIP tickets to the next Blockchain World Conference taking place in Hollywood, Florida December 3-5, and a three-night stay at the Diplomat, a prize that is worth a grand total of $10,000. Blockparty will also offer prizes to any player that knocks out a pro, in addition to a competition where they will pay for the buy-in for 10 people to attend the poker tournament.

Shiv Madan, CEO of Blockparty, said “Ticketing use cases are vast, and whether it’s a multi-thousand person music festival or a more intimate event like BWC’s 100-player poker tournament, Blockparty can aid in removing many friction points for both event producers and event goers. As one of the first true real-world applications of blockchain and cryptocurrency, we’re excited to add another event category, like poker, to our ticketing repertoire. It’s a great testament to what we’ve built that the mainstream music scene and crypto enthusiasts alike are recognizing the ease and convenience of our platform and this is a great taste of what the future holds as mainstream adoption of blockchain only continues.”

This Blockchain World Conference poker tournament follows Blockparty’s first public use at Elements Lakewood Music Festival, which drew more than five thousand attendees over Memorial Day Weekend, and the news that Blockparty will be co-producing and ticketing a new music festival launching in Miami this September. More events ticketed by the Blockparty platform will be announced later this summer.

The Blockchain World Conference will bring together over 8,000 members of the international blockchain community and feature an elite lineup of speakers including Founder of and tZERO Dr. Patrick Byrne, Microsoft CTO, Azure Engineering and Blockchain Specialist Graham Mosely, John McAfee, and many more. Blockparty CEO Shiv Madan and CTO Rikesh Thapa will also be presenting on the main stage of the conference on Friday to give a live demonstration of Blockparty’s event ticketing blockchain.

Tickets for the poker tournament are available now through the Blockparty app, available for download on iOS and Android. For more information, visit and
