Big Bitcoin Heist in Iceland

Icelandic media have dubbed it the “big bitcoin heist”, some 600 bitcoin mining computers have been stolen in Iceland, in what is being described as one of the biggest thefts ever in the country.

 

 

A total of 11 people have been arrested so far but the computers are yet to be found and are valued at almost £1.5m.

 

“This is a grand theft on a scale unseen before,” police commissioner Olafur Helgi Kjartansson said,”Everything points to this being a highly organised crime.”

Man Slashed in the face for 100 Bitcoins

 

A Bitcoin millionaire was attacked by unknown thugs, cut in the face and forced to transfer all the cryptocurrency he had, approximately 100 Bitcoins, to them.

 

According to the report, the man managed to survive even though he was thrown outside and left for dead in 20 deg frost.
