Bitcoin Futures Dancing on the Ceiling at the Super Bowl

Fans at Super Bowl LII, the US NFL championship game played Sunday, Feb. 4 between the Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots, were treated to a television ad from brokerage firm TD Ameritrade that advertised Bitcoin (BTC) futures.

 

 

Singer Lionel Richie appeared in the US-based brokerage firm’s ad describing a customer’s ability to trade 24 hours a day, 5 days a week while.

The ad, which played immediately after the national anthem, ended with the company’s logo and the phrase, “Bitcoin futures available. Fiesta forever”:

 

 

Bitcoin futures started trading when CBOE launched the first BTC futures contract in December 2017 and experiencing an immediate website crash due to high traffic.

 

CME Group launched the world’s second BTC futures contract shortly after CBOE’s, also in December 2017.

 

 

The match was almost as volatile as the Bitcoin price in January but in the end the Philadelphia Eagles beat the New England Patriots 41-33.

 

Fans were partying in the street until the early hours of the morning and no doubt there were renditions of “All Night Long” [ Bitcoin trades 24/7 ] and…

Many Bitcoin investors “had the feeling” and “were dancing on the ceiling” at the end of 2017 but the party has come to an abrupt end in the first few weeks of 2017 Bitcoin investors are a bit “shell-shocked” after a regulatory and banking onslaught on Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.
