FinTech Booming, Talent Scarce

The term “FinTech” is a new term to describe the merging of finance and technology to form innovative solutions in financial services. FinTech has changed our relationship and interaction with financial services completely as well as accessibility via mobile technology.  As a result, the FinTech industry is booming and jobs are not being filled due to lack of talent – a big gap in the market.

“The FinTech sector is one of our fastest growing sectors, adding more than £6.6 billion into the UK’s economy and attracting more than £500 million of investment.”  said UK Chancellor Phillip Hammond, who also announced a £400m investment in tech startups.

With the focus firmly on FinTech, education is key.  The UK’s first FinTech course launches at Strathclyde – A new Masters in Financial Technology (FinTech) to support the digital transformation of the financial sector.

However at the moment, Fintech companies are in ‘a full-scale battle for talent’ – below are the UK top ten FinTech roles that are not being filled.  This is a chart by indeed.com
