Catch Rugby World Cup Fever at Lomond Wines

Are you looking for the best place to watch the opening match of the Springboks?

On Saturday 21st of September 2019, South Africa are taking on the All Blacks in their first pool game which promises to be an epic encounter.

And… if you are not at the stadium and looking for an awesome watch experience what can be better than the setting below?

Lomond Wines Estate will be setting up a big screen for the event and it promises to be the best atmosphere that you will find anywhere.

It is also the weekend of the Funky Fynbos Festival with activities for the whole family.

More about Lomond Wine Estate:

Lomond is situated on The Agulhas Plain near the southernmost tip of Africa at Cape Agulhas – the meeting place of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans – 8km from the fishing village of Gansbaai and within sight of the sea.

The vineyards were planted only on previously cultivated land within sight of the ocean.  This martitime climate with the resulting cooling sea breezes ensures that the vineyards are kept cool which results in late ripening intense fruit.

On the slopes of the Ben Lomond mountain in the Uilenkraal Valley, our vineyards are planted on as many as 18 different soil types, which appear naturally in small pockets along the slopes and produce intriguingly complex wines with flavour profiles that differ markedly from one block to the next.

This unique combination of geography, geology and climate results in terroir that is perfect for producing world-class wine.

The Cape Augulhas appellation has its place among the world’s top winegrowing regions, and one about which we are incredibly passionate.

But back to the rugby…

Lomond Wine Estate will have a Big Screen and as you can see from above it is probably the best place, if you are not at the actual match, to watch the Springboks and the All Blacks slug it out while you are enjoying a glass of wine or a beer.

Remember the  last time we met the Blacks?  It was that awesome draw in Wellington.
