Ray Mordt set the Gold Standard for Springbok Wings

It’s a shame that South Africa wasn’t able to play more tests during the isolation years. Players like Gerber, Botha, Du Plessis and Heunis would have lit up the international stage

Another fantastic player from that era was Ray Mordt, an impressive wing who could outpace most and run over anyone when necessary. Ray Mordt scored 12 test tries for the Springboks, including a hat trick against the All Blacks in the third test at Eden Park in 1981. Here is a collection of some of his best tries from Real Rugby.

Enjoy, and thanks for watching!
