Springboks drop to no 5 in the world after loss to New Zealand

The Springboks have dropped a spot in the World Rugby rankings following their 23-13 Rugby World Cup defeat to the All Blacks in Yokohama.   South Africa entered the showpiece event in Japan fourth in the rankings but have slipped behind Wales into FIFTH spot, dropping from 87.34 rating points to 85.75. Du Toit, 24, was on his way from France to Nagoya in Japan on Monday. The Sharks front-ranker had been playing for Top 14 outfit Toulouse on a short-term deal.   He comes in for Nyakane, who tore his right calf in 23-13 weekend defeat to New Zealand in Yokohama.   It’s very tough on Trevor,” Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus said via a press statement. Blitzboks with last-gasp win over Fiji to claim Oktoberfest7’s

The Blitzboks have won the Oktoberfest7’s competition with a brilliant last-gasp 12-10 win over Fiji in the final.   Trailing 5-10 with the match virtually over, Blitzbok captain Siviwe Soyizwapi stole the match for South Africa at the death with a brilliant individual try with Dewald Human adding the conversion to take the win. Brave Boks lose to two magnificent tries by the All Blacks

What a match!   It started with the Boks dominating the first 20 minutes but a missed penalty by Pollard seemed to change the momentum. South African fans might be in for another nasty  “black-out” surprise as Eskom warned municipalities to brace for load-shedding from the end of September and through-out October according to the DA.   The opposition party’s public enterprises spokesperson, Natasha Mazzone, has written to Eskom chair Jabu Mabuza asking him to confirm that the utility has issued a warning to municipalities.
